Marilyn grew up in Nashua, Iowa, home of The Little Brown Church. She moved to the Okoboji area from Eldora, Iowa in 1985 with her two sons, Andy and Brock. Andy and his wife Dawn now live in Minnetonka, Minnesota, while Brock lives in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Marilyn's background includes 13 years in the grocery business as a trainer and in accounting, followed by 20 years of management in the automotive industry.

She enjoys working in the fast paced, upbeat atmosphere of Parks Marina, a place she admired since purchasing boats from Butch in the past. Since coming aboard in 2007, Marilyn says she truly appreciates what terrific customers she has, making coming to work a true pleasure. It's great for her to be a part of the boat buying process and see how truly happy the customers are when they are enjoying their boat or relaxing at The Barefoot. Their troubles seem to disappear as they create great boating memories. Marilyn calls the Okoboji area "a paradise for all seasons." She considers herself very lucky to call these beautiful lakes home.
