Culinary Arts Internship
2025 Culinary Arts Internships are available at Parks Marina located on beautiful East Lake Okoboji. This internship is for students who are passionate about cooking and creating an experience for their guests from plating and presentation to creating mouthwatering dishes and delectable desserts.
You will work closely with the best of Parks Marina’s kitchen staff to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of kitchen operations. You may have exposure to Snappers Turtle Bay Café serving a full menu of Lakeside fares, Barefoot Bar’s concession style kitchen, and Parks Boat Club catering. In your summer tenure, you will take part in shadowing and executing the following:
- Food preparation.
- Menu planning.
- Safety and hygiene standards.
- Culinary techniques.
- Kitchen management.
- Staff leadership.
- Inventory.
- Ordering product.
- Catering.
- Setting pars and calculating usage.
- Tracking waste.
- Scheduling.

We hope to prepare our interns for a successful career in the culinary industry. Weekend, evening, and holiday work required. This is a paid internship of $16/hr. OT is permitted. Internship will run from approximately mid May though Labor Day weekend.
