Bar Manager

Parks Marina is hiring a Seasonal Bar Manager from April 1 to October 1. Position starts at $10,000/mo as a 1099 employee. Position will responsible for the daily operations as well as cash controls, COGS, delegations, and communications between departments on campus. Breakdown of responsibilities are as follows:

Main Duties

· Quality of service for all bar and food operations

· Oversee and guarantee the training all staff upon hire and continual improvement.

· Guarantee quality customer service, focusing on continual improvement.

· Monitor quality and consistency in product and presentation.

· Scheduling

· Oversee the operation and security of the cage

· Define and develop specific strategies to drive profitability, efficiency and sales growth.

· Oversee the physical presentation and cleanliness of the bar and contribute to the entire grounds for cleanliness and general maintenance.

· Foster strong relationships with vendors for both food and beverage.

· Oversee Menu development to ensure progressive, on trend, and profitable product lines.

· Work with the kitchen and oversee joined operations with back of house manager.

· Report the need for disciplinary actions to the Human Resource Coordinator and execute accordingly.

· Check in with customers and handle complaints.

· Complete weekly inventory counts of liquor, beer, wine, dry goods, soft drinks, energy drinks, frozen mixes and bar groceries. Enter subsequent data into an interactive spreadsheet in a timely manner and address variances with management.

· Order all product pertaining to the FOH and cruises.

· Communicate with the marketing department concerning specials, social media requirements and literature or other items needed.

· Meet all trucks for deliveries and check all orders for accuracy. Ensure accounting receives invoices and note any variances.

· Stock all products according to expiration date using FIFO in the cage, cooler and bars.

· Work with entertainment acts to ensure they are comfortable with the sound system and communicate any needs and ensure acts are paid upon completion of shows.

· Run daily checks on equipment, fixtures and furniture to ensure that everything is in working order. If repairs are required, either complete repairs or arrange with a repair person.

· Take part in sales growth, loss and prevention, cost savings and continual creative ideas for improving efficiencies.

· Convey positive customer feedback with staff and implement positive development exercises for employees.

· Possess complete working knowledge of all point of sale systems.

·Coordinate with accounting to make sure appropriate safe counts are maintained as well as replenishing change as necessary.

· Ensure tip outs are delivered to support staff in a timely manner.

· Maintain constant communications with the owner, to meet daily goals and expectations.

· Work as a team and assist alternate locations in problem solving, staffing, absences and all other daily operations when needed.

· Ensure the abidance of all restaurant codes, health inspector regulations and other state and federal laws.

· Work with other managers to share duties as needed.

· Willingness to learn all job rolls and fill in as called upon.

· Work with ownership to share their vision for location goals and general feel of the location.

· Ensure safe and secure opening and closing for staff, caring for deposits, safe codes, and building locks and security.

· Full running knowledge of front of house point of sale, programming and daily operation.
