6th Annual Battle of the Bartenders

Parks Marina and The Barefoot Bar in Okoboji is proud to invite the public for the return of the Battle of the Bartenders, Charity event sponsored by Absolut & Southern Comfort during the 38th Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games Kickoff Party at The Boathouse located at Parks Marina on East Lake Okoboji.

“The event will begin with our annual Locals Party that begins at 5 pm on Thursday, January 25th. “Says Debbie Parks, head of Parks Marina’s Marketing department, “The Battle of the Bartenders partners Parks Marina’s famous Barefoot Bar with 20 local businesses to pit the area’s best mixologists against each other in a head to head competition to benefit the charity of their choice.”

The public is encouraged to sample the cocktail creations and tip generously for each businesses’ decorated tip jar. The bartender that accumulates the most tips will be the winner of the coveted Battle of the Bartenders Trophy. They will also receive a prize package from Absolut, Southern Comfort and have naming rights to their drink which will be featured on the 2018 Barefoot Bar menu. Most importantly, the winners will receive all tips totaled to be distributed to the charity of their choice.  In 2017 Parks Marina was proud to present Make-A-Wish, Iowa with a check in the amount of $3,674.95, and has donated a total of over $14,000 to local charities since the event began in 2013.

The Kick Off event will be headlined with an introduction of the 2018 Winter Games Cheerleaders and the return of Damon Dotson to the Volvo Penta Stage in The Boathouse beginning at 6:30 pm.

The event is free to the public.
