Trusted Energy, a renewable energy company based in Storm Lake, IA recently installed 972 solar panels on the marina’s north building which is expected to produce 422,000 KW of solar energy per year and provide for nearly all of the Northwest Iowa company’s electrical needs.

“Okoboji is a tourist destination that needs to be preserved for visitors and local citizens alike, for generations to come.” said Butch Parks, Parks Marina owner. “Solar panels are one example of environmentally friendly initiatives being embraced and renewable energy is a logical alternative from an ecological and financial point of view.”

“This is a project that began last April and brings many benefits,” said Darren Anderson, CFO for Parks Marina, “The investment in renewable energy will allow us to provide for our own electrical needs and reduce nearly 100% of our electrical costs. Additionally, the large number of panels on our roof is barely visible with the advancement in solar panel technology. Solar Power makes sense for Parks Marina and our customers.”

Trusted Energy’s CEO, Rob Hach, was recently awarded the 2017 Iowa Lakes Corridor Entrepreneur of the Year for the company’s efforts in developing renewable assets.

Parks Marina is proud to be adopting environmentally friendly practices to reduce energy costs and improve the environment.
